Paint Color
Paint Color is the normal tool for brushing the selected color onto the selected layer. When the Color Tool is launched, the palette displays the selected color last used by the color tool.
Brushing is normally clipped by the lines in the layer. Hold down the Shift key and the lines will no longer clip the brush.
If the All button is down, the entire layer will be filled with the color. This approach is useful when it is easier to fill in an object and then erase around it.
Erase
Click the Erase button to get a brush that will remove color from an area by making the area transparent.
If the All button is down, the entire layer will be erased.
Fill
If there is an area to receive uniform color, and it is totally bounded by either lines or the edge of the layer, then it is quicker to use the Fill Tool. Press the Fill button and click on the area and it will be filled with the selected color.
Sample
Click the Sample button to get a one-shot sample tool. Click on the area of interest and the average color under the brush will be selected.
The sampled color will appear on the palette.
Blend
Click the Blend button to get blending brush that can be used to graduate the transitions from one color to another.
Opaque
Use the Opaque tool to force an area to be the background color. The area will also be opaque, hiding any lines, etc. beneath it.
All
Click down the Allbutton when you want to paint or erase the entire layer.
Opacity
Select an Opacity from the drop down list to make areas more or less transparent.
Erase Lighting
Check Erase Lighting to automatically erase the lighting from areas that get painted with color.
Color Scheme
If a color scheme has been loaded, a Scheme button will appear. With Scheme pressed, the color scheme will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. Click Scheme off to hide it.
