Applique Tool Instructions The Applique Tool is used to paint areas of one layer into another. A source layer called Applique is required. The destination layer must be the selected layer when the Applique Tool is selected. Brush On With the Brush-On button down, you can directly paint the Applique into the selected layer. The brush works the same as brushing on color, the lines in the selected layer will clip the brush unless the Shift key is held down. The brush strokes are shown in black until the stroke ends, and then the Applique appears. You can't erase the applique here, but you can undo a stroke. Fill With the Fill button down, you can click in a line-bounded area and fill it with Applique. Fit Fill Fit Fill works like Fill, except the Applique layer is first resized to cover the extents of the area. Use Mask If a mask is present, you can press Use Mask to install the applique via the mask.
